Our goal is to help LakePointer’s apprentice in the ways of Jesus by providing them with a mature Christian mentor to walk alongside them and instruct them in the tenets of the Christian faith while challenging them to live it out. The goal of mentorship isn’t information, it is formation. We want to give new believers the guidance required to grow in their love for God and others. 

 

We can find examples of mentorship throughout Scripture, with famous mentor-mentee pairs including Moses and Joshua, Elijah and Elisha, and Paul and Timothy. Multiple proverbs extol the value of seeking wise counsel, and the New Testament admonishes the elders in the church to teach the younger members.
